Hem pensat que era hora d’unir-nos tots els que ens dediquem a ensenyar ANGLÉS professionalment. L’objectiu és que puguem intercanviar experiències i materials i formar-nos. Volem convertir-nos en un punt de trobada dels professionals de l’anglés i organitzar jornades, xarrades i seminaris. Volem ser la veu dels professionals de l'anglés i col·laborar amb tots els relacionats amb l'anglés i amb l'administració educativa i que se’ns tinga en compte com a interlocutors a l'hora de prendre decisions.

An association to unite us all who teach English professionally has been created. The aim is to share experiences, exchange materials and encourage further training with conferences, lectures and debates and ultimately become the voice of teachers of English and liaise with all those involved and especially with our educational authority.

Con motivo de la convocatoria de la reunión de Selectividad para los profesores de Valencia el próximo 27 de Octubre a las 17,30h, nos vemos obligados a cambiar la fecha de nuestra asamblea de APAVAC al miércoles 17de Noviembre a la misma hora en el IES Luis Vives

Meeting APAVAC 17 Nov..

Dear Colleagues

Following the enforcement of Prueba Homologada (A2) in the IESs in early March 2010 we English teachers began to get organized and now we want to inform you that the Associació de Professors d’Anglés de València, Alacant i Castelló (APAVAC) is finally on the road and we want to officially introduce it to you all.

It is time to unite the efforts of all those who teach English professionally. Our goal is to promote the quality of English teaching in Valencia and establish a communication link with the educational authorities. The association will also provide a unique opportunity to exchange experiences, materials and will help us to keep updated through seminars and training courses.

There are other issues related to English which also deserve further consideration like: adaptation to CEFR, the CLIL, the Portfolio, the implementation in Vocational Training, the new PAU, A2 level tests in the IES, the specific problems of Primary Schools and coordination of Primary and Secondary Schools, etc..

Consequently, we invite all members and non members to an Informative Meeting to be held on November 17, 2010 at 18:00 in the auditorium of the IES Lluís Vives of Valencia, according to the following schedule:

18:00 to 18:30

Introduction of APAVAC and its board. Report on what has been done so far and ongoing projects: Call for the First Conference of APAVAC (certified by the CEFIRE)

18:30 to 20:00

Three discussion groups will be established:

a) English for Specific Purposes. ESP in Vocational Training. Design schools, Polytechnic, EOI, Academic English. The CLIL.. Common issues. Creation of a permanent working group about ESP.

b) The new Prova de Selectivitat.The enforcement of A2 in the IES. Common test. Test pool. Test Elaboration Commission.

c) Primary and Infant Schools Panorama. Specific issues. Coordination of Primary and Secondary Schools.

Round-up and closing.
